Research Articles
Research Articles present high-quality, original research findings that are of significant interest to our readers and the broader scientific community. This category includes original investigations across various disciplines. We welcome studies employing a range of analytical approaches, including experimental and computational methods, modeling, data-driven analyses, and artificial intelligence techniques. All submissions must represent original contributions to the field.
- Word Limit: Up to 6000 words (excluding abstract, references, figures, and tables)
- Abstract: 250 words, no references allowed
- References: No limit on the number of references
- Supplementary Materials: Allowed
- Peer Review: Double-blind review required. Author information must be removed from the manuscript and included in the cover letter.
Review Articles
Review Articles are authoritative, balanced, and scholarly surveys of recent developments within a research field. They may include bibliometric analyses and meta-analyses. Authors can present appropriate viewpoints but must maintain balance and objectivity, especially when addressing controversies. Review Articles should encompass the majority of research in the field, avoiding bias towards specific schools of thought or the authors' own work.
- Word Limit: 5000-20,000 words
- Illustrations: Strongly recommended to include ample figures and tables
- References: Typically no limit, but generally recommended to include over 150 references, with sufficient recent (3-5 years) sources
- Peer Review: Double-blind review required. Author information must be removed from the manuscript and included in the cover letter.
Editorials
Editorials provide authoritative perspectives on topics of significant interest to the journal’s readership. These articles may discuss recent advances, emerging research trends, policy changes, or scientific debates. Editorials are typically invited by the editorial board and written by recognized experts in the field. They should present well-reasoned viewpoints supported by evidence where applicable.
- Word Limit: Up to 2000 words (including the manuscript text, title page, and references)
- Figures and Tables: Maximum of 1
- References: Up to 20
- Supplementary Materials: Not allowed
- Peer Review: Not required; reviewed by the editorial team
Letters
Letters provide a platform for rapid dissemination of significant findings, preliminary research results, or discussions on timely scientific issues. This format is suitable for presenting novel observations, proposing hypotheses, or responding to recent publications in a concise manner.
- Word Limit: Up to 1500 words (including the manuscript text, title page, and references)
- Figures and Tables: Maximum of 2
- References: Up to 15
- Supplementary Materials: Not allowed
- Peer Review: Required, with a streamlined review process
Registered Reports
Registered Reports are dedicated to enhancing the transparency, rigor, and reproducibility of scientific research by encouraging the preregistration of study designs and the publication of replication studies. This article type allows researchers to submit their study protocols for peer review before data collection begins, ensuring that the research questions, hypotheses, and methodologies are robust and well-defined.
- Word Limit: Up to 3500 words (excluding abstract, references, figures, and tables)
- Abstract: 250 words, no references allowed
- References: Limited to 35 references
- Supplementary Materials: Allowed
- Peer Review: Double-blind review required. Author information must be removed from the manuscript and included in the cover letter.
Reproducibility Reports
Reproducibility Reports are dedicated to testing the robustness and reusability of previously published code supporting findings in Eureka or other journals. These reports should follow a specific format, including the content reproduced, methods, data, measurements, results, and conclusions. Detailed requirements can be referenced from related articles.
Perspectives
Perspectives provide a platform for authors to discuss models and ideas from a personal viewpoint. Unlike reviews, Perspectives offer forward-looking and individual insights intended to stimulate discussion and guide academic discourse.
- Word Limit: 3500-6000 words
- Illustrations: Strongly recommended to include figures and tables
- References: No strict limit, but maintaining at least 100 references is advisable
